Large Applied Trail Vase

Antonio Da Ros, c.1970s

Cenedese & C., Italy

£500 (approx. € EUR / $ USD)

A large and unusual vintage glass vase with opaque applied trail, by renowned Italian designer Antonio Da Ros for Murano glassworks Cenedese & C. in the 1970s.

The body of the vase, executed in a subtle dusty pink/purple colour, is oval in profile and with a cut and polished top rim that shows off the very thick-walls (the vase is 4kg / 8.8lb in weight). It has, around the entire vase, an applied trail of pasta vitrea - a glass made completely opaque by use of fine and densely suspended particles - that has a creamy hue.

It bears an original glassworks label to the base.
