The largest-sized plate or centrepiece from the 'Kastehelmi' (or 'Dewdrop' in English) series, designed by Oiva Toikka in 1964 for Finnish glassworks, Nuutajärvi.
As the series name might suggest, the design of 'Kastehelmi' is fashioned after water droplets - concentric circles of 'drops' in differing sizes decorate the underside of the object, whilst the topside remains smooth.
It is executed in a long-discontinued amber-brown colourway (its modern incarnation, manufactured by Iittala since 2010, favours a subdued, smokier brown).
