Bubbled 'Katedraali' Vase (1435)

Helena Tynell, 1963

Riihimäen Lasi OY, Finland

Sold! (approx. € EUR / $ USD)

A very scarce and rather tall angular 'Katedraali' ('Cathedral') vase, designed by Helena Tynell for Finnish glassworks, Riihimäen Lasi, in 1963. The design was discontinued in 1965.

Executed in a self-coloured deep lilac/purple, it is shot through with thousands of small random bubbles, many of which burst on the surface during blowing, lending a subtle rough/smooth texture to the vase.
