A very scarce freeform expo glass bowl, designed by Edvin Ohrström for Orrefors in 1952. Orrefors expo pieces were created in typically small numbers and for short periods of time.
Free-blown, and with an irregular rim, the bowl is decorated all over with manifold random cuts of differing size and direction, creating a dense 'hammered' design - no small feat on such a thin-walled piece.
Signed 'Of. Expo 46-52 - E. Ohrström' to the base.
