Berry-Prunt Scavo Vase

Vittorio Rigattieri, c.1980

Seguso Vetri d'Arte, Italy

Sold! (approx. € EUR / $ USD)

A small and bulbous baby-blue glass vase with four traditional Venetian applied berry-prunts to the sides, designed by Vittorio Rigattieri for Seguso Vetri d'Arte, Murano, in the late 1970s or early 1980s.

The exterior is decorated a scavo - a technique whereby the vase is rolled in ashes and salts whilst still semi-molten to create the time-weathered look of excavated Roman glass.
