A large and contemporary soffiato (thinly mouth-blown) chalice-shaped clear glass vase, designed by Marino Santi for Eugenio Ferro & C., Murano.

The deep flared bowl and the wide foot, both with an applied trail of cyan blue glass to their rims, are met with a complex stem comprising a short pillar decorated with a spiral of transparent cyan cane with a very thin core of opaque black, and a vertically ribbed avolio - a rounded enclosed bubble of glass.

Bears a Vetro Artistico Murano label - V.A.M. representing a consortium of Murano glassworks guaranteeing the authenticity of the glass - with the number 050 for the Eugenio Ferro works. Engraved signature of 'M. Santi' to the underside.
