Very tall and very heavy cylindrical vase designed by Livio Seguso for his own studio, Seguso A.V., Murano, around 1990.
The main body of the vase is a long, thick-walled cristallo cylinder, with an applied base of incalmo construction, a technically challenging technique whereby two or more hemispheres of glass of identical diameter are joined together whilst soft and are worked into the desired shape.
The base is solid hotworked glass, with suspended ribbons of blue and charcoal grey, and a series of large injected bubbles.
Signed 'Seguso A.V.' to the base.
