Grey-Opal Incalmo Vase

Lino Tagliapietra, 1985

Effetre International

Sold! (approx. € EUR / $ USD)

Sophisticated grey-opal cylindrical vase designed by Lino Tagliapietra for Effetre International, Murano, in 1985.

The main body of the vase is executed in incamiciato glass - a combination of opaque white and transparent coloured glasses, layered and thinly blown.

The applied rim of the vase - a thick and hollow tube of glass in a transparent smoke-grey colour - is of incalmo construction, a technically challenging technique whereby two or more hemispheres of glass of identical diameter are joined together whilst soft and are worked into the desired shape.

Fully signed and dated to the base, 'Lino Tagliapietra - Effetre International - Murano 1985'.
