Four-Part Incalmo Wall Lamp, c.1970s

De Majo, Italy

Sold!

£150 (approx. € EUR / $ USD)

A single vintage mouthblown glass uplighter wall lamp, with a total of six (6) available, produced by Italian lighting firm, De Majo, Murano, in the mid/late 1970s.

The glass shade is of incalmo construction, a technically challenging technique whereby two or more hemispheres of glass of identical diameter are joined together whilst soft and are worked into the desired shape. This lamp is four-part incalmo with a main diffusing body of lattimo (white opaque glass) and alternating layers of deep red and smoked grey.

The lamp takes two E14 Edison-screw bulbs.

Signed to the glass shade, 'De Majo, Murano'.
