'Gefion' Glass Wall Lamp

Carl Fagerlund, c.1970

Lyfa, Denmark

£90 (approx. € EUR / $ USD)

A single 'Gefion' wall lamp of glass and brass, designed by Carl Fagerlund and produced at the Orrefors glasswork for Danish lighting firm, Lyfa, in the late 1960s or early 1970s.

The abstract crystal glass, described in original Lyfa catalogues as 'double corrugated', is textured on both sides - a waffle-grid to the back and a softer, more naturalistic pebble-like texture to the front. In combination with the brass back-plate, the texture creates a rich and dispersed light.

The lamps take E27 Edison-screw bulbs.
