Green Glass Table Lamp, c.1975

Strathearn Glass, Great Britain

Sold! (approx. € EUR / $ USD)

A vintage drop-shaped opaque glass table lamp with chrome cap and neck, produced by Scottish glassworks, Strathearn, in the mid-late 1970s.

The glass body of the lamp is in a lively grass-green colour, shot through with hundreds of random small bubbles and darker flecks. The bottom half of the lamp has large dark blue chips of glass fused flat to the surface and encased in a final layer of clear glass.

The lamp has been refitted with an Italian-made Bakelite E27 lampholder, with in-built switch, which is suitable for most modern British and traditional European shades. It has been rewired with premium vintage-style Italian twisted fabric cable in a complementary olive green.
