Incamiciato Table Lamp

Gino Vistosi, c.1970

Vetreria Vistosi, Italy

Sold! (approx. € EUR / $ USD)

A vintage glass table lamp, designed by Gino Vistosi for Vetreria Vistosi, Murano, in the 1970s.

The lamp base has an elegant stepped profile, and is of incamiciato glass - a combination of opaque white and transparent coloured glasses, layered and thinly blown. This lamp comprises two layers of glass - a very bold cobalt blue outer layer, and an internal opal-white inner layer that lends the lamp its opacity.

The lamp has been refitted with a custom-made turned solid oak cap, a period-style Bakelite E27 lampholder, with in-built switch, which is suitable for most modern British and traditional European shades. It has been rewired with premium vintage-style Dyke & Dean twisted fabric cable.
