Aqua Blue Ribbed Glass Ice Bucket Set

Jacob E. Bang, 1937

Holmegaard, Denmark

£70 (approx. € EUR / $ USD)

A vintage aqua blue glass ice bucket (form 8715) with optic-ribbed decoration, designed by Jacob E. Bang for Danish glassworks, Holmegaard, in 1937 - but not put into production until the mid-1950s.

The ice bucket was released in three versions - one with a caneworked handle threaded through applied glass lobes with a celery-like pattern, one with no applied decoration whatsoever, and one with the applied 'celery' lobes closed off and used for decoration. This version is the latter.

The ice bucket is complete with its original stainless steel drainer and tongs with canework decoration. These are almost always missing.
