A set of four antique cut crystal port wine or apéritif glasses in a traditional 'Pfeiffer' form, made in Sweden between c.1890-1910.
Of of exceptional quality, they were possibly produced by Kosta, for identical - but undecorated - forms appear in their 1890 catalogue under the name 'Nordenskjöld'.
'Pfeiffer' was introduced to a variety of Scandinavian glassworks around 1860, with incredibly elegant panel-cut tapering stems, finished with a carved 'notch' to the top to accentuate the volume of a large and delicate bowl.
The style of the rather understated cut pattern - a minimal array of interlaced stars and fans - would indicate production of the very late 19th century or very early 20th.
