Blue Scavo Decanter

Antonio Da Ros, c.1970

Gino Cenedese & C., Italy

A small decorative decanter with squared-off sides and a matching square stopper, designed by Antonio Da Ros for Gino Cenedese & C., Murano, in the early 1970s.

The decanter comprises an aqua-blue core cased in a thicker layer of clear glass, decorated a scavo - a technique that recreates the unevenly matted surface of 'excavated' Roman and Etruscan glass.

The decanter bears an original factory label to the side.
