'Bayeux' Bronze Two-Arm Candelabrum

A vintage solid bronze 2-arm candelabrum candlestick decorated with raised cat and bird motifs taken from the margins of the Medi&ealig;val Bayeux tapestry. It was designed in the 1950s or early 1960s by Niels Dam Ravn for Danish art metal foundry, Nordisk Malm.

The decoration and other raised elements of the design are polished and bright, offset against a rough and patinated background.

It bears the original foil label to the interior of the foot.
