A vintage - and particularly large - cast glass window hanging in the abstract form of a boat. It was designed around the early 1970s by Bertil Vallien for Swedish glassworks, Åfors, then part of Kosta Boda.
The hanging was hand-poured, using open-backed casting, which necessarily incorporates the foibles of hand-made glass processes - random bubbles, swirls and ripples.
It has two circular openings incorporated into the design through which to thread a rope or attach a metal chain for hanging.
Signed to the base, 'Hellsten Skruf'.
