A fun, abstract, and rather weighty vintage cast glass figure of a woodpecker on a log, surveying his work.
It was probably designed by Uno Westerberg and was made in the mid-1960s by Pukeberg Glasbruk, a Swedish glassworks renowned for its innovative - and often-imitated - cast glass designs.
Cast glass is solid glass, hand-poured into a mould, and often incorporates small bubbles, ripples, swirls and striations - lending aspects of the unique to each piece.
The woodpecker retains its original factory label to the side.
