A vintage and vibrant red-orange glass suncatcher with the naively-styled motif of a figure, designed by Jacob E. Bang for Kastrup Glas in 1964 and produced after the Kastrup and Holmegaard glassworks merged in 1965.
The suncatcher is hand-pressed, using a method not unlike pressing a monogram into sealing wax, and necessarily incorporates an uneven look - often including bubbles, swirls and frit. Consequently, each suncatcher is unique, and may differ slightly from the illustrations.
They are 'new old stock', discovered in a Copenhagen glass warehouse that had closed its doors in the mid-1970s.
