A scarce, large and very heavy hand-cast lead crystal glass sculpture in the form of an abstract/stylised penguin, designed by Uno Westerberg for Swedish glassworks, Pukeberg, in the mid- / late-1960s.
The sculpture was hand-cast, which necessarily incorporates the foibles of hand-made glass processes - random bubbles, swirls, folds and ripples - that lend it a rusticated appearance.
Bears a partial factory label to the foot.
