A very large and dramatic massello sculpture of a bull, in blue and aqua green cased in a bright crystal glass, designed by Vincezo Nason for his own Murano works, V. Nason & C., in the very late 1980s or early 1990s.
Massello glass, or 'full' glass, is made without being blown, but is instead formed entirely by physical manipulation whilst hot.
The exterior is decorated a scavo - a technique whereby the vase is rolled in ashes and salts whilst still semi-molten to create the time-weathered look of excavated Roman glass.
Bears its original factory label.
