A large massello sculpture of a leaping fish, in bright crystal glass, designed by Vincezo Nason for his own Murano works, V. Nason & C., in the very late 1980s or early 1990s.
Massello glass, or 'full' glass, is made without being blown, but is instead formed entirely by physical manipulation whilst hot.
The design of the fish is very crisp and understated, and its face very expressive. It has an applied amorphic base to represent a splash of water.
Bears its original factory label. Signed to the side of the base with 'V Nason'.
